Coconut substrate is a natural substrate made of shredded coconut fiber. The most recommended substrate for breeding exotic snails. It is also used in terrariums with spiders, exotic cockroaches, amphibians, reptiles, etc.
Ways to use coconut substrate for snail breeding:
1) Spread the substrates about 2 cm thick in the terrarium, and then spray with spring water.
2) Use a 100% cellulose paper towel (unscented, undyed) in the tank as base layers, and then partially cover the towel in the tank with a small amount of coconut substrate. Lightly spray the whole thing with spring water. One of the advantages of coconut substrate in combination with a paper towel is that you can more easily control the proper humidity and keep your pet clean. Snails tolerate this way of laying mulch and show better results in growth, health and beauty of the shells. The litter should be replaced with fresh litter every 3-4 days.
