The beautiful giants Archachatina marginata marginata look robust and fascinating, inspiring awe. Their main asset is their dark, black-gray or black-brown body and massive shell. Archachatina marginata marginata “type 1” snails are distinguished by their exceptionally black feelers and almost tar-black head. The predominance of black in coloration gives them an almost gothic style.

Typically, the size of the shells of the species reaches a sizable size, about 12-14 cm.

Like most members of the genus Archachatina, marginata marginata marginata is a moderately active, indiscriminate and easy to maintain species.
